MinistriesEven before the YAM Office was in existence, there were parish and organizational young adult groups. Today there are a number of parish and organizational YAM groups including CTK Singles, ACS, Spirit & Truth, St. Vincent DePaul, Holy Spirit Young Professionals, TEC (To Encounter Christ)…just to name a few. One of our goals is to network these groups together and publicize their events so that young adults have one information source for the variety of opportunities that are available throughout the Archdiocese. Atlanta Catholic Sports (ACS) is a sports-based ministry serving young adults (19+ years old) in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Through organized sports leagues and events, ACS is committed to enriching the lives of its members spiritually, socially and in the community. The Holy Spirit Young Professional Ministry is a community of men and women, in the 20's, 30's and 40's brought together to nourish God's call to life with Him. The Young Professionals develop their potential, foster their talents and respond to the challenges of being Catholic in today’s world. The Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Young Adult Ministry is a group of single and married young adults in their early 20s to early 40s united in diversity and faith. Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for young adults to share their faith and build a home for young adults within the Immaculate Heart of Mary community. On the Deck is a Catholic college ministry that brings together college-age students from all over Atlanta for the summer. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for Christian fellowship and spiritual growth to college students while they are home for the summer. We have tons to offer including weekly gatherings, regional events, and an awesome retreat. Every Thursday night we gather to grill out, eat great food, and hang out with amazing people. Young Adult Ministry at St. Brigid's seeks to gather all Young Adults in the parish to connect with each other, the Church and most importantly - with Christ. SCYA is a ministry for those in their 20's & 30's, married or single, at St. Catherine's in Kennesaw, who are looking to get involved in parish life and meet others in their peer group. Our events are centered around fellowship, spiritual growth / faith enrichment, and community service (both within the church and in the surrounding community). Our cornerstone event is Sunday 5:30pm mass followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Other events include weekly team trivia and bible study, hosting Sunday morning coffee & donuts for the parish once a month, and much more. We are a primarily African-American Catholic community of young-adults of the St. Paul of the Cross parish, a parish of the Congregation of the Passionists serving the Archdiocese of Atlanta, who provide and promote, social, service, spiritual, and theological Catholic events for, by, and of, young adults. The mission of Atlanta TEC is to provide retreat opportunities TO ENCOUNTER CHRIST which enable young adults to experience the Paschal Mystery in the sacraments and in the community, thus sending forth disciples empowered to enlighten and ignite the world for the building up of the Kingdom of God. A TEC Weekend is an opportunity for young adults to explore their relationship with God. We live such hectic and harried lives that we become too busy for God and too busy to reengage with the vital questions on our hearts. Too many Catholics know about Jesus but they don't know Jesus in an intimate and vibrant way. The weekend is an open invitation for you to encounter the Risen Christ. YAM Toastmasters is focused on helping Young Adult Catholics develop public speaking and leadership skills within a Catholic environment. Learn how to use techniques such as voice, language and gestures. Learn how to persuade, inspire and become a more effective and powerful communicator. Come to our next meeting to find out more.
