Lenten coffehaus presented by Office of Young Adult Ministry on Wednesday nights throughout Lent beginning with the Wednesday after Ash Wednesday. Five weeks of Lent. Five locations around the Archdiocese. Join us for an evening of faith, fellowship, and fun! We’ll begin with a Mass at 6pm* (*time may vary – see below), a light Lenten dinner, and a dynamic speaker at 7:30pm. We’ll conclude with coffee and dessert. Priests will be available for confession as well.

Fr. James Flanagan


Father James Flanagan was recently assigned to Holy Spirit after his ordination to the Priesthood on May 31, 2008. An only child and a native of Miami, Florida, he grew up in Key Largo, Florida.

He entered the United States Air Force from October 1991 until September 1996.  From January 1997 until May 2001, he studied in the “Humanities and Catholic Culture” department at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. His education included analysis in the following disciplines: theology, philosophy, history, the arts, political science, literature, and anthropology. Fr. Flanagan earned his B.A. in “Humanities and Catholic Culture” in May 2001.

After graduating from college, Fr. Flanagan moved to Atlanta where good friends of his had decided to settle. During his time as the RCIA/Adult Education Coordinator at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Alpharetta he was encouraged by many co-workers and friends to consider a vocation to the priesthood which led him to enter Mt. Saint Mary’s Seminary in the fall of 2003.

Fr. Flanagan finished his course work in the seminary this past May and recently received both his M.Div. and M.A. in Theology with a concentration in Church History.

Anne Hartle has taught philosophy at Emory University for the past twenty-five years. Her teaching and writing focus on the history of philosophy, especially the early modern period.Her family has been attending St. Joseph Maronite Church for more than twenty years.

Bob Fitzgerald
Bob Fitzgerald

Bob Fitzgerald, retired Executive Director of Ignatius House and retired Vice President of BellSouth Corp., has been active in retreat work and spiritual direction since 1996 giving retreats in Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and Texas. He currently serves as an adjunct lecturer in the Certification for Spiritual Direction program in Atlanta, sponsored by Spring Hill College. A native of Baton Rouge, Bob received his bachelor’s and law degrees from Louisiana State University, and later earned a master’s degree in business at the University of Hawaii while serving in the Air Force as a judge advocate. Bob has served as Chair of Saint Joseph’s Hospital and St. Joseph Health System Boards.

Yvonne Marchese’s personal story of suffering and redemption.  Hear how this award-winning marketing and advertising executive found a lighthouse after years of wondering in the desert.  In honor of St. Patrick, who suffered greatly but found his own beacon of light in the Lord, we guarantee this is not your average story.  Yvonne is the Executive Director of Catholics Come Home and Virtue Media, Atlanta-based Catholic non-profit organizations.


Fr. Jack Durkin

Father Jack Durkin is Pastor of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Duluth, Georgia. A native of Darby, Pa., he grew up in North Carolina, graduated from Wake Forest University and received a master’s degree in teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill. He taught and coached in Macon and Athens, Georgia before entering the seminary. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1999.
